Open Science is Open Access

Accessibility of scientific work is fundamental for scientists and the nutrition of ideas. Advancement in Science is based on cooperation and collaboration, the freedom of ideas and the accessibility of knowledge. To foster science and minimize misconduct and fraud the best way is to promote and encourage Open Access Projects.

Why is Open Access a driving force for science?

Amongst other reasons international access to relevant information is vital for scientists and researchers. Open Access makes documents available internationally within a short period of time, promotes cooperation between scientists and accelerates the research process. Resources are not limited by the local library budget. By publishing with Open Access licences researchers gain full control over their work.
Through Open Access, the results of publicly funded research are freely available online and do not have to be bought (back) from the publishers by the scientific and scholarly institutions.
